An individual substance of a rational nature, usually a human being, but can also refer to a character in a play, one of the three hypostases of the holy trinity, any sentient or socially intelligent being, someone who likes or has an affinity for something, a human of unspecified gender, or a worker in a specified function or specialty.

The physical body of a being seen as distinct from the mind, character, etc.
